Aged Care Agreement Information Pack

Don't just sign - get advice! You can't afford not to....

What is the Aged Care Agreement Information Pack (ACAIP)?

The ACAIP contains sixteen questions and answers to consider and discuss with your family, friends and the Aged Care Provider.  They are about the residential care agreement and about accommodation bonds.

Aged Care Accommodation Bonds

If you are being asked to pay a bond these questions and answers will help you to better understand what controls and supervision exists over the money you pay, after you pay it – and what is lacking.

There are six questions about bonds will help you to better understand the real purpose and meaning of:

  • guarantees;
  • prudential standards; and
  • sanctions

Aged Care Agreements

When a person intends to enter an aged care home (high care or low care) the law requires that the Provider offer an agreement. There are nine questions about residential aged care agreements, which will point the way to improving your legal rights and the legal obligations of the aged care provider.

In addition there is a set of suggested clauses for attaching to your contract, a table explaining the clauses (for you and for the provider if they wish to see it), and finally a letter to your provider asking for the clauses to be added to your agreement.

The cost advantage

Now it is possible to have access to independent and experienced legal advice on an aged care agreement, wherever you are in Australia. You or someone you know needs to have an internet connection. You don't have to worry about how much the package costs because you will know at the start.

If you decide to proceed with the purchase of the ACIP, the cost will be less than $200. It is rare to impossible to see a private lawyer and this kind of advice for any less than that!
